Writing and check ins

The writing boxes, HOW check in, practice planner, mood selection and creator draft run in your browser. This site does not send those entries to Mark, save them in a database or use browser local/session storage. No one monitors them. Refreshing, closing or returning through browser history can clear entries when JavaScript is on. Save anything you want to keep before leaving. Each writing box has a save option when JavaScript is on. We request a browser leave page warning while a box contains writing, but browsers may not show it, especially on mobile; it is not a backup.

Browsers, keyboards, extensions and devices can have their own restore, spelling checker or backup behaviour outside this site’s control. On a shared device, clear the boxes before leaving. With JavaScript off, automatic clearing and plain text file export do not work; manually delete your words.

Downloaded files

PDF guides are static documents. Saving your own writing creates a plain text file on your device; it is not encrypted or protected by a password. The site does not receive it. Other people with access to your device or backups may be able to read it. Annotation apps you choose have their own privacy practices.

Cookies, analytics and hosting

This build adds no analytics, tracking pixels, advertising scripts, embedded TikTok videos, newsletter forms or optional cookies. Fonts and visual assets are hosted by this site. If you use Larger text or Calmer view, this site saves only those two display choices in your browser’s local storage so they continue across pages and visits. No writing, mood, recovery details or history is stored there. Toggle either control back to its standard setting to change the saved choice; clearing site data removes both. If your browser blocks storage, the controls still work on the current page.

The hosting provider necessarily receives technical requests, such as an IP address and the requested page/file, to serve and secure the site. That is separate from the private words typed into the tools, which are not included in requests. Provider processing and retention are governed by its own arrangements; this page does not promise that no technical logs exist. Cloudflare privacy information.

External links, Ko fi and payments

Opening TikTok, a support organisation, Monzo or the Ko fi shop takes you to a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy. Product purchases are made through Ko fi, not through these writing boxes. Ko fi and its payment providers process checkout information under their own policies. The seller may receive the order and customer information needed to fulfil purchases and respond to enquiries. Read the Ko fi privacy policy and the seller information at checkout. Monzo is only for optional project support, not product delivery. There are no third party embeds here. Do not put medical or recovery histories in payment notes or customer service messages.

Contact and safety

This independent project is Mark The Diary, @markthediary on TikTok. For an order or seller privacy enquiry, use the seller contact details or contact option in the Ko fi shop. Never send private recovery writing as an order enquiry. The website and social media are not monitored crisis care. Use urgent support if you are in immediate danger.
